Hey ya’ll! My apologies for being gone so long. I get busy on social media and forget about here. My bad.
So. I keep myself busy otherwise with my drawing. It’s what helps me when I’m down and/or depressed. You can see my work on my Instagram account under Peabuttonsmom. #peabuttonsmom_art
My health has hit some bumps along the way. My legs began swelling. I now have to wear compression stockings. I found some super fun cute prints on Amazon. Now I can be playful with color and not look like a frumpy old lady. Big smile!
I shall do my very best to incorporate writing here into my weekly routine. I’ll leave you with a few pix of my drawings.
I’ve been struggling with life in this “hole”. Today, however, I want to share a ray of goodness. Not something that is transferred from me to you but something that you can transfer to another. The word for it is CHARITY. So, did you cringe? Were you expecting the offering plate shoved in your face? Never fear. I’m not doing that here. No hands held out asking for alms. No junk mail stuffing out the more important things (like the heating bill?).
At the start of the year somebody on another blog had asked about a word to set the pace for my year. The word that came to my mind, immediately I might add, was “SHARE”. I am supposed to share more this year. And yet I’ve been failing to share here. My deepest apologies. Forgive me please?
Now don’t misunderstand me. I HAVE been sharing. Spring is the time of year that I get loaded with requests from various charities for handmade items. And I have been gracious to accept their requests and donate. But that isn’t really “charity”. Yes, it is giving of my abilities and resources but I was ASKED to comply. Charity, true Christian charity, comes from within, from that “whole” in your heart, because you WANT to do so.
With that thought in mind I wish to share this blog with all of you. I have been checked in myself once again to Share. I need to learn that sharing when depression sets in is a form of healing.
I am an avid crocheter. Even when my hands hurt and my fingers go numb I still can be found with crochet work close by. So for all my crochet and kitting friends I wish to share.
I found this list of 10 charities to be the broadest and most appealing. My own granddaughter is a recipient of a Linus blanket! Please take a look and see if there’s anything that stirs your “whole”. Do it for yourself. I have done some. I need to do more. The words echo in my mind to “do what I can”. So with that I share the following blog.
Here we are between holidays and I am finding myself cleaning out my emails. Sadly there are a great many pages of unread emails from two years ago! One such email I want to share with you. I find the words of this blogger to be as fresh for me as if she had written them yesterday. There can always be a renewal, a regeneration, if you will, of reading words with a fresh approach. Much like re-reading a well loved book. You always enjoy it and every time you turn a page you find a renewing of the words.
The words of this blogger left me with a realization for my life. I feel so much of the time that I have so very little to share. But when I share with others then we are both enriched and have more than when we started. In compliance with the words of that email I do believe my word for this new year to come is “SHARE”. I must do more sharing in 2015. Much more sharing than I ever have. And that sharing begins here.
Many years ago I had a pen pal. Since my youth I have enjoyed writing letters and sending cards. But a few years ago I went through such a dark time in my life that I wasn’t even getting junk mail! It was a horrific feeling, to not even be recognized as an “occupant”. With this said I invite you to read the following forwarded post and at least consider mailing out those Christmas cards. It doesn’t matter if the recipient gets it “on time”. It matters that somebody thought enough to write.
A wonderful Easter and anytime skit…Well worth the watch….No need for Translate either 🙂 Just click on the link above. It will take you to a wonderful blogger who likes to crochet but rather shared this from her Church….
